"Cape Town Rising!" Cape Town by aztraveler2

Cape Town is among my favorite destinations. The city has it all: mountain views, shopping, hiking, beaches, restaurants galore and cosmopolitan flair. I have been there twice and have never had any problems. The people are very warm and friendly, and very happy to have tourists (especially Americans) visiting.
Things to do: the V&A Waterfront (touristy, but nice), Table Mountain, the District Six Museum, Robbin Island, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Camp's Bay, the Jewish Museum, downtown and more.
As in any major metropolitan area, common sense precautions are necessary.
Visit a township with a guide to get another view of South Africa. The townships can be difficult to visit, but the people are proud & friendly. You need to experience this to get an accurate understanding of South Africa.
