Eiffel Tower - if street hawkers stress you out, don't visit the tower at night, they are horrendous trying to sell tacky light up Eiffel Towers for 1 euro. They are persistent and spoil the beauty of the tower at night. In the end we left and headed for CDG airport early as we could not sit and enjoy the scene because of these people. I don't believe they are even french. Street beggars in the Champs-Elysee are prevalent which I found very surprising.

Safety: Crossing roads anywhere!

Main roads, or side roads, you take your life definately in your own hands if you are not too observant crossing the roads. Even if the green man is lit on crossings it doesn't mean it is safe to cross, pay special attention when crossing any road or you could become part of the tarmac. The drivers take no prisoners!
