Kafunta Lodge in the South Luangwa Park was a great place to observe game very close.The lodge staff ferry you across the river in a early morning drive seeing Elephant ,Kudu,Lion,Hippo,Warthog,Baboon,Giraffe,Crocodile,Zebra,Impala,The elusive Leopard on a night drive and lots of birds.
The lodge does two day drives and one night drive, has really nice accomodation with ensuite and lovely private views over the river and lots of game walking past. The vehicles they use are very good for game watching and reliable.A lovely place to see Africas game. They also have walking safaris

A real Africa town. I arrived here on a tribe bus from Malawi with the chooks and chickens and i was starting to cramp up with the lack of room to move ,but a great xperience.I found it hard to get directions from the bus station to my hotel,the (Korean Garden),a very basic hotel but good security,a restaurant,swimming pool,and close to all the action
Need to be careful venturing out at night and would go with someone you trusted who knew the area.When i was there it was very hard to exchange money and if you were lucky,2-3 hours might see you leave the bank.The borders leaving Zambia were corrupt with dis-honest officials and you needed to be patient.Once again i was in Africa and you have to accept there ways.
Left Llilongwe for Lusaka.Arrived at bus station and huge markets.Was advised by a local not to go into the markets because i would be robbed.I think it was good advice.Decided to catch bus to Kariba in Zimbabwe,was robbed of some money here,but not a big ammount but it is a place to be careful
There is some warnings in my travel,but i dont suggest it is the reason not to go there.I reckon it is great to go there ,but just remember where you are and take care.I loved it and it was a bit of adrenalin travel
THe border crossing between Zambia crossing into Zimbabwe at Kariba was very testing with the black official making it very hard and drawn out but i eventually arrived in Kariba
