* Moscow, population: 11,500,000 Because of a 1974 US military paperwork SNAFU a trip (as a tourist not an invader) to Moscow was cancelled just days before departure, so it was a thirty-two year wait that sort of nagged at me before I could visit the city. I was not disappointed and the stories about harassment by authorities, bureaucrats etc. we never once experienced. Amazing how powerful the single word ‘spasiba’ (thank you) is in Russia.

If you are a US citizen applying for a Russian Visa you are required to list every country you have ever visited, every school you have attended and every job you have had. - It's worth the trouble.
