Where are all the Czech people

by IThinkImLost - last update: Nov 12, 2007

Nope, not here

When planning a trip to Czech Republic the first city everyone wants to go to is Prague. Not a bad choice, but Czech is a city crawling with people from everywhere other then Czech Republic. I spent a couple of days there and met Irish, English, American, German, Netherlanders, Swedish, and everyone else from around the world, but I didn’t meet and Czechnians (not sure what they are called).

Not to take anything away from this city, it has a lot to see, but I felt like I didn’t get the experience I was looking for. The night life is great because of all the tourist, but with all the tourists comes the crime. So be careful of where you go and who you are dealing with. Before you get in a taxi make sure you ask how much it will cost. I was there with a group of 10 people, 3 different taxis where taken from the one place to the other and we all where charged different fairs.

Other Great cities

During my stay in Europe I visited four different cities Prague, Plzen, Brno, and Hradec Kralove. Each one of these cities had there own fun experiences, but to get the Czech experience I would suggest going to Brno. This is a large enough city that you can find a lot of things to do and see and is not a tourist destination.

Also when driving through Czech, make sure you have an Auto Bahn pass. I made the mistake of not having one and got pulled over for speeding. Now I hap to pay a fine for speeding, and one for not having the autobahn pass. Now my friends and I are pretty sure that the cops radioed ahead and told the people at the check point back into Germany the story because when we got to the German border, like twenty minutes down the road, we had to pay another fine for the same thing. We never received any tickets just had to pay money, so I am sure that we just bought there families dinner for the next couple of months.
