My first trip to Sagada back when I was in college left me too amazed that I made a promise to myself to return. So there I was, back to the mountains together with my brand new husband, as i insisted this is where we spend our honeymoon.
Places we visited were of course, the caves, and the big falls (did the falls without a guide, congratulations!), the new Ganduyan musuem, SMV museum, pottery, echo valley.. read up on my pages! |
| | Caves Two things appear on the top of the list of things to do: Caves and Falls. On the picture is the Lumiang burial cave. Century-old coffins lay there for tourists to view.
Visitors can either do the normal caving or the cave connection. Normal caving consists of visiting the Lumian Burial cave (just the opening of the cave , then going into Sumaguing, exiting also in Sumaguing) Cave Connection is more adventurous (we took this one); entering Lumiang cave (yup, you will be going inside the cave with those coffins on display), then exiting at the neighboring cave, Sumaguing. We took around 2 hours in the cave, braving slippery stones, ice cold flowing water and sticky bat poop. occasionally, you have to climb up or down ropes.. very challenging, and fun. |
Falls Bomod-Ok Falls. A long hike from the town. But certainly a view worth the sweat and the leg cramps.. We congratulate ourselves for having done this without a guide (kulang sa budget, hehe). It was actually easy enough as i was a secong timer, you would just need to follow the trail, follow the source of the river water.. | | |
