Baltimore is a lovely city with a vibrant harbor, perfect for a summer day, or a quick weekend, like I had.

I have a long history with this city. My great aunt Lucy lived here for most of her life, so growing up we drove down to see her. That was the early days of Inner Harbor. I remember getting out of the car near the harbor in the sweltering heat, smelling the thick, sweet smell coming from the McCormick Tea Company. That last trip was when I was about 15.

Twenty five years later, a fellow VTer, Littlesam1, sends a link to a restaurant in Baltimore called Crabby Dick's. It's a really funny website, and wrote and said I must go there! A few weeks pass, and I'm making plans to see my friends, Chris and Jenn, who live in Richmond, VA. The airfares were particularly high, but as I searched other cities, found a great deal to Baltimore. We agreed we would all meet there. Neither of them had been before, and sounded like a good place for a weekend.

After telling Larry I was coming, we make plans to meet over the weekend. Then the llittle scamp starts a forum about getting a tattoo. (Please see the travelogue for complete details!)

A short while later I'm on my way to see Chris and Jenn, and meet Larry and Jim. We had a terrific weekend!
