The islands of Cape Verde are located some 450 km west of Senegal in the Atlantic Ocean.
6 of the 15 islands are not inhabitet.
The most interesting islands for visitors are Santiago, the main island with the capital Praia, Fogo with the volcano, Sao Vicente with the harbour city Mindelo, Santo Antao with it's green, almost jungle-like atmosphere and Sal which is a paradise for windsurfers and has the only international airport.
