"OJÉN - a village in the mountains of Spain." Ojén by Regina1965

Ojén Travel Guide: 29 reviews and 71 photos

Ojén is situated in the mountains north of Marbella with a population of ca 2000. Despite being so close to Marbella and the wealthy expatriants it is somewhat unspoilt. A typical little white Spanish town with a lot of charm and colourful flowers and fruit trees all over town.

The wonderful VT-members Carmen and Stace drove me from Marbella into the mountains of Ojén, after showing me Marbella and Puerto Banús. This is the true VT spirit and I hope I will be able to show them Iceland sometime.

The name of this village, Ojén, is derived from the Arabic word "hoxán" meaning rough or bitter.

Wonderful view of the white village. Reminds me of Greece.

Wasn´t I lucky to meet those wonderful VT members, who took me there! There was a big forest fire in this area lately :(

It was really nice of Carmen and Stace to drive you up to the mountains of Ojén and show you around. The village looks beautiful in your photos.
