Strömstad Travel Guide: 30 reviews and 81 photos

While staying in Norway I went twice to the town closest to the border of Sweden, Strömstad. Food is so much cheaper in Sweden than in Norway, that it is worth the monthly trip to drive there and stock up on food.

Yes :) I have bought a lot here, it is a lot cheaper than in Norway and the Serbians go there to buy their food in a big supermarket right by the border.

I don?t like the looks of those big trucks on the road. Is it really worth driving all that way if you figure in the cost of petrol and your time and nerves?

Hehe, neither do I, but it is worth going there once a month and buy in bulk. It is soooo expensive here in Norway. But we also go there to buy Serbian food, as in Strömstad is a Balkan store where my partner can find all the food from back home.

difference in 14 kroner for the same thing, even something as small as your fries..yowww! are there limitations on how much you can take home without being taxed etc?
