Lancaster is a city and county town of the county of Lancashire in North-West England.It is situated on the River Lune and has a population of over 100 thousand.Long existing as a commercial,cultural and educational centre,Lancaster is the settlement that gives Lancashire its name.
The city has several unique ties to the British Monarchy,The house of Lancaster was a branch of the Royal Family,whilst the Duchy of Lancaster holds large estates on behalf of 'Elizabeth II' ,who herself is also the Duke of Lancaster.
With its History based on its port and canal the city is an ancient settlement dominated by Lancaster Castle,also home to Lancaster University and the University of Cumbria.

Was in Lancaster yesterday - love the place!
Would enjoy sitting outside having a burger or some fish n chips. Lovely building! Would love the Maritime Museum too!
