The Perch: French delight

The Perch is a pub/restaurant situated by the River Thames just off Port Meadow in Oxford.French owned it has a very large interior with a relaxed open fire lounge section and a restaurant style section as well as a very large open outside area complete with fire pit and barbeque.There are baby changing rooms,sofa's on the decking and a full playground complete with climbing frames,swings etc for the children.Add to this its beautiful countryside location in picturesque surroundings and you have the perfect place to eat and drink.One minor drawback is the price,we found it a little on the expensive side with drinks being way to dear,we payed nearly ten pounds for two pints of lager and a bottle of coke,this gives you some idea of the price.Main coarse meals average about fifteen pounds.The food is exceptional though and i do recommend this place to anyone who fancies pushing the boat out a little.
The pub formed part of the inspiration to 'Lewiss Caroll's' Alice in Wonderland'one of Britains best loved Authors who resided in these parts.

Opening hours are 12 noon till 11pm mon to sat and 12 noon till 10pm sun.

Favorite Dish: The roast chicken on the bone with challottes and peas served with a creamy French sauce is mouthwatering,though this dish along with most others is a trifle expensive.

The Anchor: Great chips

A lovely pub situated in Jericho,great for relaxing with a drink or sampling the menu.There are two main rooms and an outdoor area with benches,its kid friendly with changing rooms.The staff are friendly and the prices quite reasonable for Oxford.

Favorite Dish: We had the Chicken sandwich and chips,both were very good especially the home made chips with home made mayonaise.

The Jericho Cafe: Hearty breakfast Jericho Cafe Review

The Jericho Cafe is a stylish Diner/cafe/deli situated in the popular district of Jericho,Oxford.A very popular place as everyone seems to mention it some time or other.We had breakfast here and sat upstairs so we could people watch,i had the full english breakfast with a round of toast and a coffee which was very nice but i have to say quite expensive as i didnt get much change from ten pounds for this.Apart from the price its a very nice place and the service was excellent as we didnt wait more than ten minutes for our food even though it was quite busy.

Favorite Dish: English breakfast,sausage,bacon,beans,egg and mushrooms with toast.

Manos: Great nibbles

A great little Greek/English Deli located on the high st in Jericho,Oxford just fifteen minutes from the City centre,eat in or take away,has an upstairs and downstairs eatery,is clean and colourful with friendly helpful staff.

Favorite Dish: The humous dip is out of this world perfect for nachos or pitta.
