Seaside town in Merseyside with a population of over 90000,it lies on the Irish Sea coast and is fringed to the North by the Ribble Estuary and lies 16 miles North of Liverpool.Southport is one of England's most popular seaside destinations and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country.it hosts a variety of annual events such as the Air Show and Golf tournaments at nearby Royal Birkdale.There are many victorian style buildings mainly in the town centre and numerous attractions such as the Marine Lake and Iron Peir,as well the beach and promanade.Other popular places include the unique Memorial Gardens,Art Gallery and Lord street shopping.
- Pros:Relaxing,plenty to see,good shopping
- Cons:Not too great if the weathers bad
- In a nutshell:A good old fashioned day at the seaside
