Bus By Bus Review

Dubai has an excellent and very cheap bus service. The popular routes have buses every ten minutes. Free route maps are available at bus stations. Pay the driver as you board. The front seats are reserved for females.

The destination signs on the front of the buses alternate between Arabic and English.

Taxi Taxis Review

Taxis are the most common way of getting around in Dubai. There are four taxi companies operating metered cars. All taxis are comfortable and efficient with courteous uniformed drivers.

The initial charge is 3 Dirhams (0,6 Euro) between 6am and 10pm and 3,5 Dirham after 10pm (the initial charge from the Airport is 20 Dirhams (about 4,5 Euro)).

The running charges are 1.6 Dirhams per kilometre.

If the meter is broken the trip will be free.

Abras

To get from Dubai Side to Deira in the quickest and most pleasant way, take an abra (a small ferry boat). They constantly shuttle back and forth across the Creek. There are three abra stations on each side of the Creek. A trip costs 1 Dirham (about 0,2 Euro) and you pay on board.

And abra can also be hired for a trip up and down the Creek for 100 Dirhams (about 20 Euro) an hour.

A cool thing to try, the tripp takes about 5 minutes.
