"Cumbuco - Fortaleza" Cumbuco by pure1942

Cumbuco Beach is located about 40 - 45 km north of Fortaleza. The beach is a favourite with Fortaleza locals who flock to the beach at the weekend. The beach is a stunning example of the beautiful beaches located in North-Eastern Brazil. While the place is beginning to build up with new apartments, restaurants, shops and markets it is still not overly touristy, especially during the weekdays, when the beach is quiet and peaceful.

Cumbuco is the scene of my greatest ever seafood dish. I was treated to a huge dish of freshly caught prawns and fish, which after I had picked out what I wanted it was cooked on a barbeque grill in front of my eyes.
The little local restaurants are the place to go for fish and the open air terrances of the restaurants overlooking the beach are the best place to enjoy the meal.
