Ok.. this place is hip looking (all red and black lobby)..the staff are all 20 somethings (not that this matters much).. what the reviews don't tell you is that they have a night club in the lobby....Our room was spacious and clean.. but grossly overpriced at $450+ a night. We ended up next to the fitness centre .. where the music was blaring on a Friday night (we actually went into the fitness room to turn down the volume of the TVs). From our bathroom (large, walk-in shower, all granite.. but low flow shower head)... I could hear the thumping of the club 5 storeys down.. perhaps the biggest disappointment was the view of the other building over the industrial fans and the piled up garbage in the alley.. they were not kidding when they said that it was a room without a view (a view would have cost us $50USD extra a night). Location-wise, pretty Bryant Park across the street where we sat and had coffee in the morning... Disappointingly, no restaurants within walking distance that we could find
Unique Qualities: overall clean and comfortable.. I expected more for what we paid .. even though it is NYC.. the cost was pricey for an alley view.
