Balatonszárszó is a quiet, ordered family holiday resort on the southern shore. In the years of 30-es already it has been mentioned as a children paradies. In year 2005 and 2006 its beaches have won the classification "Blue wave flag". Out of 135 beaches only 29 obtained this classification, based on the water quality, the tourism attractiveness, the cleanness and the services, In the City and on his neighbourhood the parking is free.
At the ENTENTE FLORALE EUROPE 2004 competition in the category of parishes Balatonszárszó reached a silver grade.

50 miles long beach

Here on the southern shore you will find a beautiful 50 miles long beach, an uninterrupted line of large and small resorts teeming with life, a paradise for fans of sun and water, particularly families with small children. The particular benefit for children is the very gradual incline meaning that in most places children of even the youngest ages can walk out for 100 m or more before they get out of their depth. The average temperature of the water is 26-30C. The high season at Lake Balaton lasts from the first half of June till the second half of August.read more
