Chapel and the Holy Right Hand
The picture shows the mummified right hand (Holy Right Hand) of the first Hungarian Christian king Saint Stephen I. (1000-1038 A.D.) which is kept in great reverence by the Hungarians. Saint Stephen I. accomplished the historic mission to turn to Christianity the pagan Hungarian tribes who arrived in Transylvania in 896 A.D. and to establish the Hungarian state.

Funicular

Funicular to the Castle Hill

The the world's second funicular was opened on March 2, 1870. At the very first time the vehicle covered three metres per second, but this proved to be fast; from this reason to request of the clients the speed was reduced to its half.
Today already only the tourists make use of the funicular exclusively. Annually more than one million passengers use it in order to visit the castle.

Backdoor to the Royal Castle

Beauty of Buda

Budapest, the hungarian capital is laying both banks of the river Danube.
The west bank side is Buda. The name of the city was Pest-Buda until 1873.
Hungary was once one of the richest countries in Europe until the unjust Trianon Peace Treaty in 1920, when it lost more than 2/3 of its area and more than 1/2 of its population. Most of the sightseeings have an origin from the pre-war "happy peace era".

This is an excellent and informative page about a place I will have to visit one day, Lazslo! I would walk in the streets of your beautiful city and go to all these museums. Travelling by hydrofoil seems a good idea.
