The Big Bend

This is my hometown of choice. I loved everything about it from the stark beauty of the unforgiving landscape to the rugged, independent attitudes of the locals. It takes alot to survive in the desert. Theres a saying that "everything here either stinks, sticks or stings." The people are friendly and unlike those anywhere else. One of the most unique things about the region is the location. The closest airport is 3 1/2 hrs away, closest big city 4 hrs. You have to want to be in the Big Bend region, you can't really end up there by accident!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:good people, great scenery, great hiking, independence, hard to get there
  • Cons:hard to get there, not the freshest veggies, small population syndrome
  • In a nutshell:Cooler then Marfa any day
