Paradise? Disneyland? It's both! (and neither)

Channeling the gods

Chiang Mai's Songkran festival dancer
This dancer was re-enacting some ancient rite during the Songkran festival in Chiang Mai. You may know that the highlight of the holiday is a multi-day water fight around the moat of the old city.

My buddy and I bought squirt tubes that could push water 10-20 meters, filled them up with ice-cold water and blasted passers by. I got to tell you, it's silly but a lot of fun.
Ethnic minority roadside vendor

On the road to Pai

This elusive lady was selling her wares on the side of the road. She did NOT want her picture taken, so please don't steal and re-publish this.
Chiang Mai village woman cooks evening meal

Cooking long bean soup

The wife of the village healer cooks up the evening meal as her husband cooks up the local medicine to ease the pain (if you know what I mean).

Hey curious traveller :) Visibility around Koh Tao was very good and water extremly clear. And life underwater amazingly rich. I was impressed and so were all the people we were diving with. Worth visiting! Enjoy, G
