What can you say about a town like Manila?

by GenuinelyCurious - last update: Apr 14, 2008

Pollution makes for some spectacular sunsets

I've spent what feels like too much time in Manila. If it wasn't for my business interests, I'd just as soon give this place a miss. There's really not all that much for the tourist to do, once you've "done" some of the obvious things.

On the other hand, this place is becoming a cosmopolitan melting pot, 24 hour city that services the world via call centers and BPO shops. The people are what make it and what I hope you will see in some of my tips is that it's not what you do as much as who you spend time with in Manila.

Pros:"Great people and great energy"
Cons:"Dirty and crowded."
In A Nutshell:"Don't come here unless you really want to hang out"

Santacruzan in Bgy Bel-Air sounds very posh...and closer to Bel-Air, try Peninsula's Spices for good Asian food - a bit pricey, but quite a treat. Cheers from the desert!
