The Downtown "Freemont Experience" is one of the greatest things to see in Las Vegas. The city has built this covered street experience for us tourists. It is a computerized light & sound show that runs on the hour and is FREE! It has 4-6 different themes, which range from classical music, to western, to the airforce, and childrens themes. It is a 15 minute show that should not be missed!

IF you are interested in the outlying areas when you travel, then you will need to take a side trip- by car, bus or shuttle- out to the Hoover Dam. This is approx. 45 minutes from Vegas and borders the state line of Arizona. This is a great marvel in engineering from the 1940-50's. The dam has daily tours that take you down into the working areas and explain how & what the dam accomplishes. There is also a great historical museam/gift shop available. This is a great trip out into the desert, where you can see the enormity of the dam and the fact that it generates the electricity for the entire city of Las Vegas and surrounding areas.
