For World War I buffs, this area is rich in history. There are many battlefield gravesites, particularly of Americans who died here. The city of Ypres has a museum of the battles that raged for control of Ypres. Be sure to be at the Menen Gate at 8 PM for the Last Post. The Last Post has been performed every night since 1929. |
