Lots to see and do | Nyhavn - a jolly atmosphere |
When we're on holiday we tend to avoid cities but Copenhagen was a real pleasure to explore. It's compact and with lots of things to do for the young and old. My 14 year old daughter really loved the Tivoli Gardens. You can get pass outs so we headed for the exit when we got hungry and found cheaper eating places outside - see my restaurant tip. We liked the boat trip around the harbour and enjoyed our walking tour through from Central Station up to Kongens Nytorv past the Amelienborg Palace and the wonderful Frederikskirken and then along the waterfront to the Little Mermaid. We picked up the waterbus on the way back . We had two two days in the city before flying back - we could easily have filled another day with sightseeing. I wanted to go up the helter skelter church spire but we ran out of time.
My photos will give you a flavour of some of the sights. |
