98 degrees: Another yummy chinese cuisine

This chinese restaurant is not too frequented by tourists, in fact, there were no tourists around when we dropped by, and it was a busy lunch hour! The crew all speak in Chinese and the only way to get your order up is by pointing the picture of the meal you wanted. Lots of noodles and soups. Diners unusually prefer milky cheese on toast as dessert and milky tea to go with it. (I keep wondering why but unfortunately didn't try it.) We also see a lot of ham and omelet ordered.

Address: along Lock Road in Tsim Sha Tsui

Comparison: least expensive

The King's Lodge: Delicious chinese cooking

From the street, the restaurant's view is a frontage of kitchen crew making noodles and doing their usual kitchen tasks. (I bet the kitchen is never a boring place at all, being a great place to people-watch as well!)

King's Lodge is located in easily accessible Chatham Road South in Kowloon, amongst shopping stores and hotels. Very busy, especially at noontime, it appears to be a preferred place so we just went in to sample some real chinese dining.

Favorite Dish: There's a lot in the menu - rice meals, noodles and soups, and the usual chinese dishes found in most international cuisine restaurants. There are also exotic dishes one should try like eel and some fish i've never heard of. We decided to try lamb in spring onions and a grilled carp. The carp was rich and saucy and quite delicious, but i was particularly amazed that the lamb was cooked in perfection, one cannot tell its lamb. No unusual lamb smell, to be precise.

Price ranges HK$35-45
