Lauterbourg is the easternmost commune of mainland France and situated in the region of Alsace. The town has its name from the river Lauter.
It is very close to the border with Germany and not far from the German city of Karlsruhe. The best cycling route from Karlsruhe to Lauterbourg is along the river Rhein and crossing it by a ferry. |
