THE BEAUTIFUL ARCHIPELAGO

A VIEW FROM HAVELOCK ISLAND
Andaman & Nicobar islands is an archipelago of 572 beautiful islets and rocks situated in the Bay Of Bengal, east of Indian main land. Out of this, only 36 islands are inhabited.These beautiful islands stretches over 700 kilometers. Islandas are covered with very dense forests. It has varities of flora and fauna. It has some very beautiful beaches. The vast sea around the island offers excellant scope for adventure water sports. The islandas are clean and unpolluted. Hence it is a paradise for lovers of nature.

THE ABORIGINAL TRIBES

These islands were the home of aboriginal tribes from pre-historic era. These tribes fall into various categories known as Great Andamanese,Onges,Jarawas, Sentinalise etc of Negrito origin. The tribes of Nicobar islands are of Mongoloid origin knon as Nicibarese and Shompens.
CELLULAR JAIL

REMINDER OF COLONIAL ERA

Situated at Port Blair, the capital town of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Cellular jail is a mute witness to the colonial era. During the British rule, many of the freedom fighters were placed here. They were tortured and many were executed.
Now a part of the jail is converted to a museum. Major part of the buildings are converted to a hospital.
