ST. MICHEAL'S CONVENT | A VIEW OF ST MICHEAL'S CONVENT FROM THE BOAT |
Situated on the banks of river Regintz and foothills of Stiegnwald, Bamberg is a beautiful, clean and wonderful place to see. The town extends over seven hills, each crowned with a church. Because of this some people call this town "Franconian Rome". When you walk through the narrow streets of the town, or sail through the canal, you might feel that you have gone back in time by a couple of centuaries. St. Micheal,s Convent, which is a major landmark of the town was built in 1017 A.D to train the clergy. This convent still maintains it's past glory and grace. |
