Purmamarca is a village located at the foot of the Cerro de Siete Colores, a wonderful hill with these amazing colors. To see the hill in the early morning sun is magical.

This is a totally Andean village. Very little of what you might think of when you think of Argentina is here. You will see the traditional colors and have a nice opportunity to taste great food here.

Though the tour buses pull in and out of the village all day long it was a quiet, relaxing place to stay and I had the unique opportunity to talk with the locals and enjoy a local pena. Everyone was in a great mood, singing and celebrating. One thing they were celebrating, as i was told later, was that it had rained a little. In this area, that is indeed something to be grateful for.

What a pretty village this looks like! Thanks for the tour Val. Maybe the llama steak wasn't well made or it's the type of meat that needs long slow cooking?

The Casserole was cooked for a much longer time than steaks. Next time stick to the casserole or even slow cooked BBQ style. :-)

This into photo is really appealing, with the hikers going to the varicoloured mountain! Carbonada de llama!! Yes! I will have to try it!
Another place off the beaten trails, Val.

I love deserts, and the mountains in Purmamarca look wonderful. I'd like to try llama someday. I'm not much of a vegetable eater, but I like trying all kinds of meats.

Those mountains in your intro photo looks amazing with all different colours! I have never tried to eat llama, but I have never seen it on the menu either.
