Why Turkey ? | Bosphorys View during winter |
We wanted to travel somewhere different to spend the holiday season and knowing that Turkey is mostly populated with modern Muslims. Our decision was made even though people said it was going to be cold, and some rain would ruin our trip; but besides all we enjoyed our stay!
Turkey was great! |

| | ISTANBUL: So much to see, probably not enough time Most travellers decide to go to Istanbul with a short period of time. Probably a weekend or a few days. I spent 8 days and tried to enjoy the most my vacation.
My essential tip is do whatever you are really interested in doing. It's good to read a little about sights and history before going that way you can realize what you are interested in.
I selected my days to switch between museums/history + landscapes/fun. Didnt hire any tour guide and walked almost to all sites. Walking is the best!
Here's my best places:
* Mosks: Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia, Sulemaniye (worth the visit!) * Bosphorus Cruise * Topkapki Palace * Walk from Galata Bridge to discover Galata Tower and walk all the way to Taksim Square thru main street Sillkadi Caddesi St. * Dolmabahce Palace (not that mentioned but is great) * Grand Bazzar * Spice Bazzar * Hippodrome - Obelisk (take a picture and run! not that fun ;) |
