If I paused my life for a second and reflected on it, I'd say I've been pretty fortunate when it comes travels: lived in Bucharest, Romania until July 2012, travelled a bit around Europe until then, moved to Abu Dhabi UAE in mid-2012 and I'm currently enjoying our travels around the GCC and Middle East.

I find extremely useful both informative posts on popular attractions and stories about hidden places, but my pages generally focus on my passions (and, when left with no other choice, my husband's passions).

On most of my pages you will find tips on:
- salsa venues and traditional dances: dancing brings together people without even sharing the same language. The rhythms of the music and body movements are enough to design a story in only for some five minutes. Different countries = different styles;
- live music: though my music culture is as developed as that of a 70-year old, sharing my life with a part-time musician developed my apetite for live performance, be it on the street or in clubs;
- local products, books, tea houses.

Just dance!!!

My biggest passion is dancing salsa. Dancing is my favorite mean of communication, as well as the liveliest form of art. When you dance, you make a statement, create a story and, as we say "conquer" music. Though from a viewer's perspective salsa might look passionate and sensual, it is a very technical dance and not easy to master, especially if you also start studying musicality.

Take your chance and go at least once to a dance class. You might never step out of the studio again.

Emile Zola wrote probably the most beautiful ode for this Goddess in Contes a Ninon - Le Carnet de Danse :
La danse, cette nymphe pudiquement lascive, me charme plutôt qu'elle ne m'attire.
J'aime, simple spectateur, à la voir secouer ses grelots sur le monde ; voluptueuse sous les cieux d'Espagne et d'Italie, se tordre en étreintes, en baisers de feu ; long voilée dans la blonde Allemagne, glisser amoureusement comme un rêve ; et même discrète et spirituelle, marcher dans les salons de France.
J'aime à la retrouver partout : sur la mousse des bois comme sur de riches tapis ; à la noce de village ainsi que dans les soirées étincelantes.
Mollement renversée, l'oeil humide, les lèvres entr'ouvertes, elle a traversé les temps, en nouant et dénouant ses bras sur sa tête blonde. .

Hope you enjoy your stay in Muscat! Its a quiet and relatively small city. There are a couple nice stops, but walking the historic areas and waterfront at night are well worth it.
