Yosemite National Park - Yosemite National Park

Yosemite is Americas second National Park (after Yellowstone). Located in Southern California, it is famed for its scenic and rugged mountains and rock out croppings, with such recognizable names such as Half Dome and El Capitan. Most visitors remain with the beautiful Yosemite Valley. But there is so much more to see in this park made famous by photographer Ansel Adams.

The entire valley was carved by receeding glaciers eons ago, leaving the great rock mountains and the valley we see today. Naturalist John Muir and Theodore Roosevelt help to make this wonderland the worlds second National Park. The cover picture shows the most famous granite formation in the park, Half Dome. It stands at a towering 8,836 feet high.

    Beautiful photos of the very spectacular Yosemite National Park! I always enjoy visiting these scenic wonders, but there are so many Parks to see and time is limited!
