The Regente is a nice 3 star hotel located in a side street right off the Gran Via. The staff is very courteous and the rooms are nice and well situated. There is a Spanish Style Cafeteria on the prenises where only breakfast is served for a small fee which is added to your hotel bill. Fare is Continental (Juice, coffee or tea, croissant and roll). The hotels location makes it easy to get to key points around the city. There's 2 Metro stops close by as well as a bus stop. And being right off the Gran Via makes it a breeze to get a taxi.
Unique Qualities: The hotel offers a Concierge Service which is convenient for the purchase of tours, flamenco shows, etc.

sue_stone Sun Nov 13, 2005 19:16 UTC I spent a couple of days in Madrid, but didn't see the Temple of Debod - very strange sight to see in Spain!! | deecat Fri Sep 16, 2005 16:09 UTC Stephen, this is a very interesting and informative group of pages concerning Madrid. I, too, loved the Prado Museum...one of the greatest. Wish I had taken the bus tour. Thanks for the tour. | jenniferchin Sun Aug 7, 2005 13:40 UTC Ahh Madrid !
