Madrid is the capital of Spain and the main entry point into the country. It is a sprawling metropolis that is home to a fair percentage of the total population of the country. Unlike many other european countries, Madrid lacks the wealth of notable monuments. It does however contain some of the best museums and it is home to one of the best Art Museums in the world, the Prado. The city also has a huge assortment of Tapas Bars. Those famous Spanish Horsd'oeuvres that everyone must try while in Spain.
I found Madrid to be very crowded and the traffic reminded me of NY. Though in some areas, traffic is restricted and in the streets around the Puerto De Sol, there were masses of people walking the streets, enjoying their drinks at the numerous tapas bars and shopping in the numerous stores. Whiich proves that the people of Madrid are a party loving crowd who dine late and party until the wee hours. Very much like NYC in many ways.
