Thailand is the land of smiles, and Bangkok is its capital. It is a modern, thriving city complete with an assortment of historic sites, museums and other attractions. Historically, it is a young city, founded in the late 18th century. Despite its young age however, there is enough here to induce even the most jaded travelers.
Of course, the heart of the city is in Buddhism, the dominant religion. This can best be summed up by visiting several of the glorious Buddhist temples found throughout the city.
In addition to its attractions, Bangkok is a dining mecca for lovers of Thai Cuisine. One can also experience Thai Traditional Massage, Muay Thai (the national sport) and great shopping. Yes, Bangkok has it all. |
