NEWS FLASH
Focusing on Greece for my next trip in 2010. However, if money becomes an issue, will likely switch to a destination closer to home, Costa Rica maybe, or someplace in the USA.
As always, will post updates in the coming weeks and months as they become known.. |

| | Birds and Birdwatching Hello fellow Travellers. One of my passions is Birdwatching. The joy of observing our feathered friends was first sparked nearly 30 years ago when I first went to visit the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. Years later, when I went to the Galapagos Islands, it not only was expanded upon, it became my number one hobby. Since then, its become part of my life. Many of my travels have in fact included Birdwatching. I also have a backyard feeder and I am a member of the local chapter of the Audubon Society which conducts walks every sunday from mid August to May. To watch birds in the wild give one a true appreciation of the wild creatures we share the earth with.
Here are the top 10 birding destinations I personally still would like to go to. I have divided them into North and Middle American and Foreign:
North America
1. Pacific Northwest 2. Texas Coast: Whooping Cranes and Neotropical Species 3. Maine and/or Maritime Provinces of Canada: Great Seabird Colonies 4. Panama: Super, Top World Birding Destination 5. Costa Rica
Foreign
1. Peruvian Amazon 2. Pantanal of Brazil 3. Danube Delta, Romania & Bulgaria 4. Okavanga Delta, Botswana 5. East Africa
Of course, there are others besides these, such as the Shetland Islands of Scotland, for their famous seabird colonies; and Costa Rica, mainly since its the best place to see the Resplendent Quetzal. It is called by some, the most beautiful bird in the world. |
