"Lander, Wyoming" Lander by basstbn

Lander Travel Guide: 23 reviews and 23 photos

Lander was a convenient town in which to spend a night en route to the Tetons and Jackson, Wyoming. The town was not as "touristy old west" trap as I expected, which was good. We found a nice place to eat and a good lodging value here, both of which will be listed in my tips.

Sinks Canyon State Park

Of further interest is the nearby (7 miles away) Sinks Canyon State Park, which we found to be a fascinating side trip. Here the Popo Agie River disappears into a cavern (sinks) to reemerge a quarter mile away. Well worth a visit. See my Things to Do tip for Sinks Canyon State Park.
