Mansfield Travel Guide: 10 reviews and 20 photos
Mansfield is located in south central Missouri, less than an hour east of Springfield on US Hwy 60. Its claim to fame is as the home to author Laura Ingalls Wilder for more than 60 years. Laura is widely known for her series of "Little House" books, later made into the hit television series "Little House on the Prairie." All of these books were written at this modest farm house.
- Pros:An absolute must-see for fans of the Little House books and TV show.
- Cons:Nothing much here for those not into the Little House stuff.
- In a nutshell:Nancy and I enjoyed ourselves a lot, and learned a lot.

I loved my quick visit here as I returned to FL from CA, driving xcountry in '91. I only had time for Laura's dream home, not Rose's cottage. Rose was their only daughter though, since the child who died in infancy was a son.
