One Room School Museum

Perhaps this old schoolhouse serves as a museum during the annual community outhouse tour, and at no other time. I find no information regarding its availability to visitors. Nonetheless, I found it worthy of a couple of photos.

Historic Bridge?

"This 1893 Pratt Truss Bridge has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United State Department of the Interior" reads the plaque next to this bridge, now open only to foot traffic. I don't know why for certain, but think I have read that it is the last or best of this bridge design still standing. There is a nice view of the Elk River Falls from the bridge.

Elk River Falls

In a state that doesn't have many dramatic changes of elevation, waterfalls are not a common thing. The falls on the Elk River are certainly not dramatic or powerful, but they do offer a change from normal Kansas scenery, and the tranquil setting here is relaxing.
