I have been fortunate enough to visit the Grand Canyon on several different occasions, several different times of the year. It is, of course, one of the greatest natural spectacles in the USA and well worth the trip.

Don't be put off by the crowds, traffic jams, even the encroaching smog blown this way from southern California. Make your lodging reservations ahead, come off season if possible and enjoy the Grand Canyon.

My family has never done more than gaze upon the canyon from the north and south rims, but the better fit and more adventurous will enjoy rafting down the Colorado River, hiking from rim to rim, or a "leisurely" donkey ride down the wall of the canyon.
