I was first introduced to the charms of Rothenburg while watching Rick Steve's video about the "Romantic Road" on public television and resolved to someday make a visit.
In 2000, my wife and I had the opportunity to spend two wonderful days in this walled medieval city. Taking a clue from Steves, we decided to do spend a couple of evenings to see the town when the daytime hordes had moved on to Munich or Frankfort. What a great move! It gave us a chance to really see Rothenburg and to rest up from several previous days of hard travel |
