Do believe the hype, Petra is one of the wonders of the world. If you can, it is a place you must see.
There is so much to see in this ancient city. The highlights incude As-Siq, The Treasury, Royal Tombs, City Centre & The Monastery.
Other things that make it special are the views here, the colours of the rock & desert & the local Bedouin who still live here. Even though there are lots of visitors at time times, it is so easy to find a relaxing place of your own where you can just sit & try to imagine what this place was like many centuries ago. |

| | What to bring There is food & drink in Petra but it can be expensve. There are stores outside the site where you can stock up, you'll need plenty of water. A hat & sun protection is essential. You'll be doing lots of walking so sturdy & comfortable footwear is a must. Finally make sure you have plenty of film or space on your camera for all the photos you are going to take. |
Petra covers a vast area, I spent a full day here, which I think is the minimum time needed. | | |
