Situated a short journey from Amman, this is a wonderfully preserved Roman provincial city, so much of it is still intact. I visited early one morning, hired a guide at the entrance & we had the place to ourselves for most of the visit.

The highlights here include the Oval Plaza & the Colonnaded Street, just walking in the ruts carved by chariots here centuries ago is a great experience. Other must see ruins are Hadrian's Arch, Nymphaeum, Temple of Artemis & South Theatre. But there are so many other things to see & history to soak up.
