Lots of water!!! Bahir Dar is on the shore of Lake Tana - the largest lake in Etihopia. This is so large, you feel it is an ocean. The lake has a lot of lslands scatterred accross it. Some are easly accesible while are quite remote. A boat trip to the monisteries on the lake is very peaceful and enjoyable. The city itself has a lot of the things need - good and cheap restaurants , accomodations, nice bars and by an large feels modern enough by Ethiopian standard. |
