"Nice and Relaxed City" a Gonder Travel Page by AddisLig

Gonder was a surprise to me. I don't know what I was expecting but found it to be a city of castles, churches, hills and trees with a very relaxed feel to it. I went around the city and by and large to my surprise, I was not hassled that much. The climate is similar to that of Addis - cool and breezy at night but warm during the day. There are a lot of things to do in the town. The main attractions are of course the Fasil Castles and Debre Birhane church. It is also the last major stop before you do trekking to the Siemen mountains.
