Lalibella is an amazing place. I have always wanted to go there as I have heard so much about it. Seeing pictures of those medieval places, I was not sure how I would feel about the place. I have to say I really enjoyed the place immensely.

Lalibella is set perched top of a hill (actually mountain rage) so it feels much cooler than even Addis. People literally live on hills - not flat area. The surrounding green hills are impressive sights. If it had been located outside of Ethiopia, thais place would be a paradise for trekkers. As it is very few people know of Lalibella and it is a difficult place to reach. You need two days from Addis, one day from Gonder/Bahir Dar if you were to drive.

For me it is one of the must see places in the world.

The village itself is slightly different from rest of Ethiopia - with two stories round cottages(Godjos / Tuklas).
