Kissamos is situated on the west coast of Crete and has beautiful landscapes and about 15.000 inhabitants. As anywhere on Crete its history goes far back and its myths and traditions are still alive.
The crystal clear sea and the vast sandy beaches of Kissamos make your holiday a unique pleasure ....definetely you will wanna return here...

With Kissamos as a starting point you can visit the archaelogical sites of Falassarna, Polirrinia, the islands of Gramvoussa(one with a Pirate citadel) the beautiful gorges of Sirikari, Rokka and Topolia, the overlooking cave of St. Sophie (Agia Sofia), the lagoon of Balos, the medieval villages etc. You will be seeing here rare endemic plants, aromatic, ornamental, as well as plants with healing properties.

Don't forget to try the delicious dishes of the traditional Cretan cuisine, fresh fish from the bay, and last but not least the famous Kissamos wine.
As you can see I'm fascinated with the traditions especially in the local cuisine area and I can't help myself not to recommend the things that I like.
