Virginia is the first sate of the southern United States. Being one of the 13 original colonies Virginia has a lot of historical landmarks to offer (just think, 8 presidents were from VA). and there are A LOT of civil war landmarks.
It borders with Washington, D.C. (the nation's capital) and Maryland to the north; West Virginia and Kentucky to the west, North Carolina and Tennessee to the south; and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.
If you like swimming, hiking or canoeing Virginia is right for you!! The west part is mountainous (with the blue ridge mountains and Shenandoah Valley), the central part is piedmont and the east it’s a beautiful coastal plain. |
