I first saw Namibia in the early 90's as a soldier for the South African D Force. It was at this time that I saw the biggest - or higest - dune in the world, Dune 7!

I revisited Nam in 2003 on a hunting trip.
Went to a small place called Aranos - lovely hunting area, Oryx, Springbok, prices very good.
It is a long drive to the middle of nowhere, lovely sunsets, I can recommend a trip to this area if you want to do some soulsearching. At night you can hear yourself think with the occational call of a wild dog in the far...

If the wind blows hard enough - and it does - a trip along one of these roads can sandblast your car to it's original unpainted beginning!!
