Heli-flight over snowy alps

This is one of the coolest things we've ever done.
5 people in a small helicopter zooming over the alps around Queenstown.
Then a landing on the snow, time for a snowball fight, and finishing off with a low valley swoop.
If you ever go to Queenstown and there is snow, this is a must!

Jet Boating on Dart River

Our second most favourite holiday activity ever.
A jetboat tour up and back on the Dart River. This hands down beats the short Shotover River trips. Taking you right up into Lord of the Rings country. Do not miss an opportunity to do this trip. Even in winter, just wear warm clothes.
Simply spectacular.

Milford Sound

I went there the first time about 20 years ago, on a coach tour. Not a great trip if you get motion sick on a bus. The hairpin turns on the access road are horrendous.
We did this a few years back in a car with another couple. A bit better way to do it.
But I think the best way would be to fly in from Queenstown, a 20 minute journey instead of 4 hours by car.
We were lucky and had great weather. The underwater observatory was very interesting.
